Reason for recall

The clamping bolt connecting the upper steering column to the lower steering column might not have the correct clamping force due to the incorrect machining of the shaft clearance hole. In extreme circumstances this could result in disconnection of the shaft and loss of steering control.

Remedy

Recall the potentially affected vehicles and replace any defective shafts with quality assured units.
