REAR "U" BOLT SECURITY
The rear axle "U" bolts on some vehicles MAY have been secured with galvanised nuts as opposed to phosphated nuts. This has resulted in incorrect tightening torque and in some cases fracture of the "U" bolts.
Recall the affected vehicles and check the type of nut securing the rear axle "U" bolts. Where phosphated nuts are fitted - check torque setting and increase if necessary.
Contact the local SCANIA TRUCK dealership or manufacturer. You will not need to pay for anything involving the recall.
The Recalled vehicles will have the fixing checked and corrected as necessary by and official SCANIA TRUCK service.
