UNINDENTED APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES

Reason for recall

It has been identified that in some cases overlapping of tolerances has the potential to make the black button of the PREV to stick in the pushed-in position when the trailer is coupled to the tractor unit. When this malfunction occurs the red warning lamp or signal for the trailer braking system on the dashboard of the truck will alert the driver that the reservoir air pressure in the trailer is dropping below 4.5 Bar. If this pressure falls below 2.5 Bar this will cause unintended braking of the vehicle.

Remedy

To address the concern Wabco under the terms of the Code will contact customers who will be provided with a valve repair kit.

How to check if the vehicle is recalled

Contact the local WABCO dealership or manufacturer. You will not need to pay for anything involving the recall.

How the manufacturer will repair

The Recalled vehicles will have the fixing checked and corrected as necessary by and official WABCO service.
