Reason for concern

COMPRESSED AIR SYSTEM MAY FAIL

Reason for recall

The heads of the blind rivet pins may detach and in unfavourable circumstances get jammed between the valve and the seat of the blow off valve. This means that the valve will be permanently open and that it is no longer possible to fill the compressed air system completely.

Remedy

Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected check the model and date of manufacture on the model plate. If affected remove the cartridge and check if the pin heads on the rivets are still firm. If the pin heads are intact rebuild the drier and mark as checked. If the pins have detached find the loose heads remove them and then rebuild the drier with new seal and damping plate. If the pin heads cannot be found a new drier should be fitted.
