POSSIBLE DISINTEGRATION OF AIR DRYER

Reason for recall

Desiccant granules in the Haldex air dryer can become pulverised and cause an internal blockage in the unit. The consequent pressure increase in the dryer may cause the unit to explode.

Remedy

Recall the affected vehicles and depending on chassis type either:- A) On 4500 Series fit a "ping" tank between the compressor and the air dryer and change the desiccant cartridge. In addition a tamper proof safety valve will be fitted to the dryer
