Reason for recall

Due to exposure of water and dirt intrusion in the engine compartment the alternators may fail prematurely due to seized bearings. In the worst case an alternator could overheat causing an engine compartment fire.

Remedy

Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and if the mileage is over 60 000km replace both alternators and drive belt. All vehicles are to have existing protection shields replaced with new improved versions.
