Reason for recall

It has been identified that water can enter the engine bay via the nearside air cleaner filter panel and ingress into the top alternator. This can then cause the bearing to fail which leads to an internal short circuit and in extreme cases possibly a fire.

Remedy

Recall affected vehicles and fit a water trap to prevent water ingress into the alternator.
