Reason for concern

POSSIBLE FIRE OUTBREAKS IN THE VICINITY OF THE CENTRAL ELECTRICAL PANEL.

Reason for recall

It has been diagnosed that the fire is due to thermal overload on 300-150 negative terminals. The cause being due to a transitional resistance between the cable lug and the terminal which has increased excessively because of the installation of Nord lock washers.

Remedy

Recalled vehicles will be checked to ascertain whether Nord lock washers are fitted. If not no action will be taken. If Nord lock washers are fitted they will be removed and replaced with serrated nuts. During each of these procedures the cabling will be checked for smoldering type damage.
